Getting here by train & bus
The nearest station is JR Kamo. From there, a Nara Kotsu bus takes you into Wazuka. Here are step-by-step routes from the main stations.

Take the JR Nara Line and change at Kizu Station to the Kansai Main Line (Yamatoji Line).

Seasonal bus from Uji
A seasonal bus links Uji with Ujitawara and, over the Jubuzan pass, the tea village of Wazuka. It is run by Kyoto Keihan Bus on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays only.

No service 29 December – 4 January.
From 10 October to 6 December the service is renamed “Green Liner”,
and this is the only period with a direct bus from Uji Station to Wazuka
(Wazuka Express Line, route 178).
Fares and connections
Outside the Green Liner period you change buses at Ujitawara Bus Center (Ichu-mae). The Uji section is served by routes 180 and 186; the Wazuka section by route 78.
Uji Tea Country Pass
A one-day pass for all Kyoto Keihan Bus routes: 1,650 yen.
Sold at the tourist information offices in front of Keihan Uji Station and JR Uji Station, and at Kyoto Keihan Bus offices. Valid on the whole Kyoto Keihan Bus network (except the Joyo Sansan Bus and the Yawata community bus). IC cards such as PiTaPa and ICOCA are also accepted.
Discount on the tea-field tour
A guided tour of the Wazuka tea fields by Green Slow Mobility (with driver and guide). Green Liner passengers pay 300 yen instead of 1,000 yen (half price for children).
Reservations: Wazuka Tourist Information Office +81 774-78-0300. The tour runs on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays until 29 November, and again from Saturday 6 March to Sunday 28 March 2027.
